Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk dan implementasi demokrasi di Desa Beringin dengan fokus pada partisipasi masyarakat, sistem pemerintahan desa, serta fungsi kontrol sosial dan jaminan kebebasan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi partisipan dan wawancara mendalam terhadap informan kunci yang dipilih secara purposive. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tema yang relevan dengan praktik demokrasi desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa demokrasi di Desa Beringin terwujud melalui mekanisme partisipasi dalam musyawarah desa, sistem pemilihan kepala desa yang demokratis, serta kebebasan mengemukakan pendapat sebagai kontrol sosial terhadap pemerintahan. Meskipun nilai-nilai demokratis telah terinternalisasi dalam kesadaran masyarakat, implementasinya masih menghadapi tantangan berupa partisipasi yang belum inklusif, lemahnya akuntabilitas pasca pemilihan, dan ketimpangan struktural yang mempengaruhi distribusi kekuasaan dan sumber daya. Peningkatan kualitas demokrasi desa memerlukan penguatan institusi, pemberdayaan kelompok marginal, dan transformasi kultur politik menuju demokrasi yang lebih substantif dan berkeadilan sosial.
