The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of using number pockets as a learning tool to enhance students' understanding of mathematics in grade 3 elementary school, particularly regarding numerical operation materials. Library research was conducted to examine relevant literature, such as books, scientific journals, and previous studies on the use of number pocket media in elementary mathematics education.
The results showed that number pocket media helps students understand the concept of place value and numerical operations. This media supports concrete learning in accordance with the cognitive developmental stage of elementary school students. By using number pockets, students can manipulate the counting process directly, making learning more meaningful. Studies have shown that this media improves learning outcomes and motivation
