Abstrak

This research aims to reveal the history of education for children with needs in Indonesia. Education is a basic need for every human being, including children with special needs (ABK) who have limitations in carrying out their activities. Children with special needs (ABK) have different characteristics from each other. Therefore, children with special needs must have special educational services that are tailored to the child's abilities according to their potential. In this research, the author uses the Library Research method, namely collecting data or scientific writing aimed at the research object. Inclusive education is an alternative education for children with special needs who experience physical limitations but can still follow the material taught in public schools. Many of those who attend public schools can follow the learning and are even able to beat children who grow up physically intact from the material they are tested on. By joining a public school, it gives them the opportunity to socialize with children who are growing normally to help the child's emotional development so that they do not become inferior children, and even consider themselves the same as other children. This is the basis on which inclusive education is implemented. Every citizen has the same right to obtain quality education. Citizens who have physical, emotional, mental, intellectual or social disabilities have the right to receive special education.
